An established and growing medium-sized audit and accounting firm is seeking to employ an Accountant. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced and ambitious professional to join a practice with excellent growth potential situated in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. They also have offices in the Cape Winelands, Swartland and Tswane.
The firm is looking for a self-confident individual with a completed accounting degree, SAIPA/SAICA articles and preferably have supervisory experience. The candidate will work as part of a team but must also be willing to take initiative and capable of working independently.
This firm of Chartered Accountants (SA) and Registered Auditors offers a variety of services with the aim of continuously looking for cost-effective, value-added solutions to their clients’ business needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform high-level accounting duties.
- Perform high-level tax compliance.
- Preparation and Review of management accounts.
- Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements.
- Preparation and Review of financial statements in Caseware.
- Compilations of Annual Financial Statements on CaseWare.
- Writing up of more complex accounting records of clients.
- Review monthly bookkeeping / VAT of SAIPA Trainees.
- Preparation and Review of tax returns.
- Reconcile Debtors and Creditors on a monthly basis.
- Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis.
- Payroll and other monthly reviews
- Manage, train, and supervise SAIPA staff to achieve set goals.
- Provide daily assistance, guidance and training with regards to bookkeeping, related taxes and SARS submissions to SAIPA Trainees.
- Reviewing work done by supervised staff before partner review, where applicable.
- Ad hoc accounting and tax work
- Client interaction and relations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- AGA(SA) or PA(SA).
- Degree in Accounting or similar.
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
- Post articles experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with CaseWare.
Remuneration:
- R240,000 to R420,000 pa ctc, negotiable on experience.
